ZooNation is offering a paid placement opportunity on our upcoming 20th anniversary show – Mixtape – at Sadler’s Wells, as a part of our Behind the Scenes initiative. This initiative aims to increase the diversity of people performing backstage roles, since members of the Global Majority are currently underrepresented in this area.
We are offering a placement with the Mixtape Stage Management team.
The successful applicant will learn from and support our Deputy Stage Manager and Company Stage Manager.
The placement will involve working 10 sessions, which may be full or split days. This placement, will give the successful applicant hands on experience of working on a main stage production with ZooNation.
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for this placement, you must:
- Be aged 18+
- Have some experience or transferrable skills in theatre crew, such as through school or a project, but no formal qualification (such as a degree course) in this area.
- Be available for all placement dates
- Be from the Global Majority. In reference to our Black Lives Matter Pledge, we particularly encourage applications from those of African or Caribbean heritage.
Key dates
Dates required for this programme:
10 sessions, dates to be confirmed with successful applicant, falling between;
– Rehearsal weeks, between 19th – 24th Sept 2022 and 26th Sept – 1st Oct 2022. Rehearsals in South East London.
– Get in and tech 3rd – 5th Oct 2022 and performances 5th -8th Oct 2022 at Sadler’s Wells.
*Please note, for the final week, hours will follow those required for performances, with later starts and later finishes.
