We offer a wide range of bespoke educational workshops and commissions that can be linked to a specific ZooNation production or focus on a specific style of dance that originated from, and have been influenced by Hip Hop Culture, including Breakin’, House, Groove, Waacking, Krump and the Funk Styles of Popping and Locking.

Working with our teachers & ZooNation artists
Our teachers are the best within the industry, and all are working professionally as dancers and choreographers. All teachers complete regular training with the company to prepare them for their teaching work, and in particular have all undergone ‘Covid 19’ training to ensure they are able to deliver workshops safely in this time. All company teachers also have a recent DBS check.

Our workshops, both online and in person, can be linked to one of our main productions such as Some Like It Hip Hop, Into The Hoods: Remixed, The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, Message In A Bottle and Groove on Down the Road, or sessions can be designed specifically for your individual needs, covering a range of styles.

One to One sessions – £77.50/hr (Price per household, up to 3 participants)

Screening & Workshop Special Offer
We’re offering schools, colleges and community groups an exclusive opportunity to watch the classic ZooNation show Some Like It Hip Hop or The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party online, and take advantage of a digital workshop led by a ZooNation artist.
£102.50 Digital Package offer includes:
+ A live one hour online dance/ Q+A session with a ZooNation artist or performer (for up to 30 participants via Zoom or equivalent)
+ An online link to watch Some Like It Hip Hop or The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party (available for you to watch and share with your class/group for five days)
Continued Professional Development
ZooNation offer CPD (continued professional development) opportunities for artists and teachers who want to improve and diversify their skills. Working with varied partners over the years we have developed a framework that can be targeted various levels of dance ability.
Beginners – Ideal for mainstream P.E/ teachers looking develop tools to deliver dance within this P.E. curriculum. In this session, participants will learn the fundamentals of Hip Hop dance and the basic techniques of freestyle and this to develop their knowledge of dance in school setting.
Intermediate – Ideal for dance teachers that are new to Hip Hop and are looking to improve their knowledge in this style specifically. In this session, participants will learn the proven 9+4 method, narrative devices, and some choreography to develop their knowledge of dance in school setting.
Advanced – Ideal for dance teachers or dance artists versed in Hip Hop and are interested in enhancing their teaching skills. In this session, participants will explore creative tasks to develop choreography, freestyle and travelling to develop their knowledge of dance in school setting.

Performance projects – Long term participation
We enjoy working with groups for longer periods of time, developing skills and confidence and working towards a short performance or sharing with an invited audience.
Rates:
Week long projects from £1,250*
Bespoke offer involving the creation of a short piece for a sharing /performance.
After school club dance project: 10 weeks from £1225*
Weekly workshops lasting one hour delivered across either a half or full term, with participants working towards the creation of a short informal performance.
