ZooNation Youth Company announce new intergenerational performance with Sadler’s Wells

ZooNation are excited to be collaborating with the incredible Company of Elders for the very first time as part of Elixir Festival 2024 at Sadler’s Wells.
Directed by ZooNation Youth Company’s Artistic Director Chaldon Williams The Exchange will bring together both ZooNation Youth Company and the Company of Elders members to explore evolving perspectives, telling stories of our past, present and future selves through dance styles influenced by Hip Hop culture.
This unique intergenerational project will be on stage at Sadler’s Wells on Sat 13th April.
General public on sale date: Friday 3 November, 10am

Join us on the Riverside Terrace for free Locking, Popping and House workshops led by ZooNation artists Bradley Charles and Bismark Anobah from 2pm, followed by a high octane ZooNation Youth Company performance.

Two siblings, torn apart when their universe is ripped into isolated dystopian worlds. Can they beat the clock and find their way back, or will they run out of time?
Presented as part of the Royal Opera House’s Next Generation Festival, Twice In Time questions our future generations’ ability to connect, and how identity can be lost and rediscovered against all odds.
Returning to the Next Generation Festival for the second year, ZooNation Youth Company are the UK’s leading young Hip Hop company.
Twice In Time is created and directed by ZooNation’s Associate Artistic Director Dannielle ‘Rhimes’ Lecointe, with additional choreography by Christian ‘Big Kris’ Alozie.

This revolutionary story celebrates the life of Sylvia Pankhurst – feminist, activist, pacifist, socialist, rebel – the lesser-known Pankhurst at the heart of the Suffragette movement, who changed the lives of working women and men across the world.
Following its 2018 run as a work-in-progress, Kate Prince’s Sylvia is back where it all began for its world premiere, uniting dance, hip hop, funk and soul to shine a light on a remarkable moment in history, with original music by Josh Cohen and DJ Walde.

ZooNation Youth Company’s Hip-Hop Half-Term (Imagine Children’s Festival)

As part of the Southbank Centre’s Imagine Children’s Festival, Associate Artists ZooNation Youth Company will showcase the group’s incredible dancers and choreographers to bring you a day of hip-hop.
This half-term join in with a dance workshop based on storytelling through styles that originated from and have been influenced by hip-hop culture, a social grooves session and a special performance by ZYC.
Ideal for families and young people (recommend ages 5+) No experience necessary, just come eager to bust some moves!

Mixtape – Celebrating 20 years of ZooNation: The Kate Prince Company brings together the shows, the people and the places that have been part of the incredible ZooNation journey.
Co-directed by Dannielle ‘Rhimes’ Lecointe and Bradley Charles, with Musical Director DJ Walde, Designer Ben Stones and Lighting Designer Charlie Morgan Jones, plus live vocalists and special guest performers from the past and present. Special guest performers include Tommy Franzen, Nafisah Baba and Gavin Vincent.

Follow Eric and his grandfather through musical history at a toe-tapping, heart-warming dance and music show for all the family, by ZooNation Youth Company.
Budding young DJ Eric and his grandfather George find out they have more in common than they once thought. Inspired by moments from Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure and Back to the Future, George winds back the clock through his gramophone to show Eric the importance of what has come before.
Join the pair on an adventure through time; from the early origins of hip-hop, funk and soul through to disco, house and rap.
Written by Carrie-Anne Ingrouille, this innovative piece of dance theatre features music mixed by DJ Walde. A Southbank Centre commission created by ZooNation: The Kate Prince Company.
