ZooNation: The Kate Prince Company is seeking an experienced Company Stage Manager to lead the stage management team for our upcoming production of Ebony Scrooge.
This fixed-term role works closely with the Production Manager, Executive Producer, Director and creative team to deliver a smooth and professional rehearsal and performance process.
The Company Stage Manager will:
Act as the central point of coordination for all company matters during rehearsals and performances.
Support the Director’s artistic vision while ensuring schedules are maintained.
Prioritise the welfare of cast and crew.
Oversee all company matters during rehearsals and performances.
Supervise rehearsals, technical operations and backstage organisation.
Manage the stage management and performance crew.
Maintain clear communication between creative, technical, production and front-of-house teams.
Attend production meetings, fit-ups, get-ins/outs and media calls.
Cue performers and crew, manage quick changes, prepare running plots and compile show reports.
Oversee discipline in backstage areas and on comms.
Liaise with the Production Manager regarding props and furniture (sourcing, maintenance and return).
Monitor welfare of company personnel, including accident reporting and arranging medical/physio appointments.
Ensure compliance with all health & safety and venue policies.
Manage petty cash, receipts and small purchases.
Coordinate with press and production teams for interviews, press calls and promotional events.
Represent the Producer at all times.
Cover the Deputy Stage Manager as required (learning the book).
Proven experience as a Company Stage Manager on professional productions.
Strong leadership and organisational skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration across a wide range of people.
Calm under pressure with a solution-focused approach.
Strong knowledge of health & safety in theatre environments.
Experience managing budgets and petty cash.

ZooNation: The Kate Prince Company is seeking an experienced Assistant Stage Manager to join the stage management team for our upcoming production of Ebony Scrooge.
This fixed-term role works closely with the Company Stage Manager, Deputy Stage Manager and Production Manager to ensure the smooth running of rehearsals and performances, with a particular focus on props management and backstage support.
Assist the Company Stage Manager and Deputy Stage Manager during rehearsals and performances.
Attend all performances and rehearsal calls as required.
Source all props as necessary during the rehearsal period.
Maintain props throughout the run, replacing where approved.
Operate sound as instructed in the rehearsal room.
Learn the book in order to cover the Deputy Stage Manager if necessary.
Adhere to health & safety guidelines of the company.
Undertake any other duties as reasonably required by the Company Stage Manager or Production Manager.
Proven experience as an Assistant Stage Manager on professional productions.
Strong experience in sourcing, creating and working with props.
Calm under pressure, with a solution-focused approach.
Strong knowledge of health & safety in a theatre environment.

ZooNation is committed to supporting young people and aspiring artists in dance and the performing arts.
Due to high demand, we offer a maximum of three work placements per year across productions, learning and administration. These are focused on individuals facing barriers to accessing the arts.
