ZooNation Open Audition Call  – Dance Artists 

ZooNation: The Kate Prince Company is holding an open audition to widen our creative talent pool and connect with exceptional dance artists for upcoming productions, projects and the development of new work (research and development). 

Audition Date: Thursday 30th April 2026

Deadline to apply: Friday 24th April 2026 at 12:00pm 

 

Who We’re Looking For 

We are seeking performers (aged 18 and over) with strong foundations in Hip Hop, openness to contemporary movement, and a genuine interest in storytelling through the body. 

ZooNation’s work blends high-calibre dance with musicality, character, and theatrical expression. This audition is open to all dance artists who are curious, committed, and excited by work that pushes beyond labels. 

 

We’re keen to meet artists who: 

  • Excel in dance across cross Hip Hop styles, including (but not limited to) the funk styles of Locking and Popping, as well as House and Breaking, with confidence and individuality 
  • Are open to contemporary and theatrical approaches 
  • Have strong musicality, presence, and performance instinct 
  • May also sing, rap, speak, or use voice as part of their practice (not essential) 

 

Audition Structure 

  • Phase 1: Learning and performing style-specific choreography 
  • Phase 2: Theatrical style-specific choreography with a storytelling focus 

 

Key Information 

  • Applicants must be 18+ at the time of the audition. 
  • All applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK for the duration of any engagement. 
  • Applicants should be based in London or willing to base themselves in or around London for rehearsals as the company cannot cover relocation costs for some projects. 
  • Photography and filming may take place on the day. We are aware this is a vulnerable creative space, and your participation will not be shared publicly. 

 

Audition Day 

Audition Date: Thursday 30th April 

  • Applicants will receive a morning call time for Phase 1. Please keep the full day available, as there is a possibility of an afternoon call, with auditions running until 5.00pm. 
  • Full schedule and timings will be confirmed upon invitation. 
  • All applicants will be notified on Monday 27 April. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide feedback to those not invited

ZooNation Youth Company Auditions

Applications for ZooNation Youth Company are currently closed.

Think you’ve got what it takes? We will be looking for talented dancers aged 10–20 to join our company.

  • High-level skills in Locking, Popping, House and Breaking
  • Ability to freestyle
  • Interest in storytelling and choreography
  • Commitment, professionalism & teamwork
  • Available Saturdays (London) + extra rehearsals when needed
