ABOUT THE SHOW

A collision of hip hop dance and Memphis Jookin’ that transforms independence into kinship, and history into evolution.

ZooNation Youth Company (ZYC) brings energy, skill, and creativity to UK stages. From West End productions of?Into the Hoods?to performing at the 2012 London Olympics, ZYC showcases top young Hip Hop talent. The company celebrates the very best young dancers, training weekly in London through a subsidised programme that embodies ZooNation’s ethos, opening doors to fresh talent and showcasing it in high-profile performance opportunities.

1776, a collaboration with Memphis Jookin’ pioneer Lil Buck and ZYC’s Artistic Director Dannielle ‘Rhimes’ Lecointe, reimagines history through movement, uniting young dancers from London, Memphis, and Body Politic Youth in a dialogue across generations and geographies.
